Cindy Hobbs gave the Treasurer’s report: in a general fund there is $7,763.67. The show funds have $6,055.98, for a grand total of $26,327.83.
It is the time of year to pay our membership dues: $30 for a family and $25 for an individual.
Fred Bergman is turning the leadership of the beginner’s group over to Julie Morrison.
Hospitality committee will have a published list of who has signed up to bring snacks to the meetings.
The next Mid America meeting is in Memphis this May. The February meeting will be February 6th to prepare for the show. The St. Louis show we have signed up to do a tabletop display, it is January 28-30. The show that will be in conjunction with the Flower Lawn & Garden show will be February 11-13. Flyers were distributed for publicity. Need people to sign up to work in the following areas: Hospitality Room, Information Table, Vendor support, and Floaters.
A collection was taken up in memory of Ron Daly and the proceeds went to OSGKC. There was an auction of Ron Daly’s orchids, some clay pots and a book. The proceeds from the auction were earmarked for an award to be given at the show this year for the best in show cattelya to be named “The Ron Daly Memorial Cattleya Award”. The annual award given a society member will be the “Ron Daly Memorial Cattleya Award”.
